Coachella, CA (Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - A Palm Desert man confessed on Friday to stealing cash from a Coachella mosque, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Ashraf Hegavy, 36, returned to the mosque on Friday and said he had committed the Nov. 28 crime, police said.
Police came out to investigate and arrested Hegavy on suspicion of burglary, the sheriff’s department reported.
The Islamic Society of the Coachella Valley is located in the 84-000 block of Avenue 49.
